The Vagina Monologues, Culture in Mumbai

Last weekend we had a great time, spending the saturday night at Prithvi Theater in Bandra, seeing the Vagina Monologues, an english play with five indian women, having great monologues based on interviews with hundreds of women from the globe.

Its just so strange to be in a theater in India, watching these women making moaning sounds, speaking about orgasms and at the same time know about the wide hatred agains women thats present in the indian society. As a woman you are not good enough if you dont give birth to a son, if you dont become a mother or if you are not housely... Of course I cant generealise a huge the attitudes of this huge country, but this is what we are beeing told in class aswell...
